Outreach & Awareness Committee
The Outreach & Awareness Committee works to raise ovarian cancer awareness within the community. They also reach out to patients touched by this disease and provide education, supportive and collaborative opportunities. They work to plan events such as Turn Huntington Park Teal that allow survivors, caregivers, friends and families to network and meet one another, to share their stories with the public as well as each other. This networking also engenders volunteers for other awareness activities and engaging support (S.O.S.) for newly diagnosed women. If you would like more information or would like to join this committee, please contact info Outreach Email
Education Committee
The Education Committee works to raise awareness and to foster knowledge of ovarian cancer symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and support as well as dealing with recurrent disease. We do this by attending health fairs and educational programs, engaging in public speaking as well as working with treatments centers and physicians and survivors networking with others. We partner with the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance and the Foundation for Women’s Cancer. If you would like more information or would like to join this committee, please contact education@ocao.org.
Strides for Hope 5K Walk/Run Committee
The Strides for Hope Committee plans the annual Strides for Hope 5K walk/run. This event raises awareness and is the major fundraising activity for the OCAO. All funds raised go directly back to the OCAO to support its Mission. If you would like more information or would like to join this committee, please contact walk@ocao.org.
